Faith, Friendship, and the Strength to Begin Again

Cecile Labar writes stories grounded in real life, shaped by Kingston, London, and New York. Her work carries warmth, purpose, and the quiet resilience that helps people keep going.

From Kingston to London: The Roots of Resilience

Cecile’s journey began in Kingston, Jamaica. When life shifted early, Her grandmother comforted her, brought her to church, and taught her the 23rd Psalm, a lesson that stayed with Cecile and continued to steady her through seasons of uncertainty.

Later, London introduced her to a new climate, a new rhythm, and a mix of cultures and voices. Those contrasts became part of how she writes. Some characters speak in patois, others in precise English, but all of them carry the same truth: people can be different and still belong in the same story.

Finding Art in the Ordinary

When Cecile was in her early twenties she had a job as a Child Care Officer. Even in difficult environments, she saw how storytelling could bring light and relief. Writing became more than creativity. It became a way to connect, encourage, and give people room to breathe.

That purpose still guides her. Cecile continues to write across formats, including plays and screenplays, always focused on stories that feel lived-in and honest.

Books and Stories by Cecile Labar

Writing that centers faith, vision, and perseverance, told with warmth and purpose.

  • Amazing Caring Woman

    Amazing Caring Woman

A stage play centered on three women, Misty, Teresa, and Elena, whose friendship begins in a London hair salon and grows stronger as life gets complicated. It is a story of marriage pressures, hidden truths, and spiritual searching, told with natural dialogue, humor, and heart. Cecile’s characters are faithful, eager, and diverse in their British culture, shaped by immigrant roots and real-world complexity.

  • Faith

    Faith

A reflective, faith-rooted book written with sincerity and encouragement. It speaks to perseverance in seasons that feel uncertain and reminds readers that spiritual strength is often built quietly, one decision at a time.

Faith Has Always Been Her Guiding Light

Faith is not just a theme in Cecile’s work. It is a foundation in her life. She writes with care and conviction, choosing storytelling that does not rely on offensive language or graphic scenes.  Her victories include three published books, and three written screenplays, that respect the audience while still telling the truth about love, loyalty, and the choices that shape a home.

Gratitude, Friendship, and a Life of Meaning

Cecile often returns to gratitude and reflection. A Jewish prayer brings her peace, and it has even influenced how she thinks about legacy and the future. When she shares advice, it is simple and honest: having good friends throughout your life is a must. That belief lives in her stories, where friendship is not background. It is often the turning point.

What Readers and Audiences Appreciate in Cecile’s Writing

  • Characters who feel like real people:

honest voices, everyday moments, and emotions that do not feel forced.

  • Faith handled with care:

thoughtful storytelling that respects the reader and the audience.

  • A steady message of perseverance:

holding on, even when life does not move on your timeline.

She Writes With Curiosity and Care

Cecile does not write from imagination alone. She listens, observes, and researches. She wants scenes to feel true, so she studies real places and real conversations. That is why her stories feel lived-in: the settings are believable, and the people in them sound like people you might actually know.
